Puppy (Pre-School / Parties / Socialisation / Training) Sessions
Over the last couple of decades more emphasis has been placed on early socialisation and guiding the development of younger puppies, due mainly to many changes in social attitude, anti-dog restrictions and increases in reported cases of aggression and anti-social behaviour. 'Socialisation' to many new owners seems to mean 'play with dogs', but it is actually about teaching your puppy how to cope with, and behave appropriately in, every social situation.
In our sessions, we routinely advise on all the puppy basics (play-biting, sleeping, house-training etc) whilst assessing problem potential and giving prevention guidance for the future. Practically, we guide you in teaching your puppy how to: relax & settle; meet people; meet dogs; accept being handled, inspected & groomed; play with toys; and most importantly, develop self-control, good manners and respond to you despite distractions.
We run 3hr Introductory Puppy Sessions £25 on Sundays at 2.30pm
For all puppies from 5 days following first vaccs (on laps / mats) up to 5/6 months
1hr follow-up sessions run on: Thursdays & Sundays at 10.30 from week 2
Fees: session 2 is £10, further ongoing top-up sessions are at £5
We have been running specific young puppy socialisation SESSIONS for local vet practices since 2005 until covid hit preventing us from running in the following vet practices as the indoor space was too limited to be covid safe. That is 16 years of specialist experience with sessions started at 7.30pm sharp and finished around 9.00pm. All participants were asked to arrive in good time to prevent unsettling the class (7.20pm-first time)
